Simulation and its significance in teaching and learning in classroom.

Simulation is something that are especially design by computer module for the purpose of study. Simulations helps in providing a conducive learning environment for the learners in the classroom. Integrating prepared simulated activities in education is now widely accepted as an important tool in educational centers.

This idea helped both the educators and learners as it gives the exact ideas and information of the situation. After I attending ICT classes, I was given an opportunity to create our own simulation when we are given a situation to describe the unique things that are there in our own village so that through our simulation it gives eyes to the peoples that are away from our home town. As I was preparing, I acquire many new knowledge like how to create the animation, how to make the overall simulation effective to attract the audiences. That is definitely going to help me in my future professional as a teacher to reach every individual needs of the learners.

As an when I prepared this, I realize that it is teachers who could make varieties of teaching and learning materials or collect different types of the resources to assist the students learning process or development stage of brain.

Most of all I realize that the learning has no end and attending the module ICT really helped me in gaining the skills related to the technology which are indispensable for the survival in 21^st digital globe as a teacher. And it help me in developing the positive attitude towards the view of technology.

learning experiences on how to use Camtasia and its benefits 

I did not have any knowledge about movie maker or about Camtasia to edit to record any kinds of video. After this module was introduced, I was able to learn everything related to the ICT which I need in my life as future educationalist. In this semester the most important that I knew is about Camtasia. As I knew that Camtasia is a video recording and editing software, created and published by TechSmith, for creating video tutorials and presentations. 

It allows us to edit video that is already recorded and also allows us develop video tutorials etc. We can easily record software applications, PowerPoint presentations, and Web camera videos through the Camtasia.

From this lesson taught, I have learned how to edit the video which is made already and do screen recording using Camtasia. Camtasia provides educators with the perfect solution to easily create video that motivates students and also it can enhance better learning. 

Moreover, I learned how to insert any kinds of video, pictures and background music to make the inserted video attractive for the audience. This softwire gives us many editing tools like we can record our own voice, split the parts, and work on it whenever we feel there is necessary after keeping our work saved.

 And we can also import media from anywhere we like and create interactive content for the enhancement of the teaching and learning process. It is easy to arrange the videos, audios and images on an unlimited number of tracks and It is also very easy to edit both the video and the audio.  

 I personally feel it is flexible software which we can take out unwanted stuff to create the things much better. It has numerous features whereby we can create quiz along with the video and it is a fun learning for us to get information. Soon going to be a future teacher I strongly felt that, we need to use this software in teaching and learning in the classroom to enhance the students learning and teachers teaching.

Through learning how to go with Camtasia and practicing using Camtasia software practically, I could able to used it for many purposes like I use for making presentation interactive and fun learning and all. It allows and helps us to record PowerPoint presentations with special voice.

It is especially very helpful in making video tutorial for students and as we know that in a classroom there are students with different learning styles, So I feel that using video which is edited by Camtasia and making attractive and informative is better for those who are visual learner.

Reflection on the benefits of using the Google Classroom

After my module tutor introduced me on Google classroom and taught me how to create it, I try to reflect on the benefits of using the Google classroom in teaching and learning and I realized that Google Classroom is a web-based forum that lets teachers to create online classrooms in order to have better teaching and learning with students. In which teacher can upload the teaching learning materials, assign assignments and help students in the better ways. Moreover Google Classroom allows teachers to communicate and interact with students and offers an open space for students to express their thoughts as well as view the announcements and course content that is uploaded.

 

I personally feel that it is as similar to VLE discussion but only difference that I saw is in VLE the students should be more active and work more but whereas in Google classroom teacher should be active throughout the course and let student to do few works but that’s also to discuss, do assign works and doing projects etc…

A decades ago teacher used to stand literally in front of 30 to 40 students with chalk and a board and lecture the whole lesson that is also in the formal classroom and from that there is no more room for student to learn. When we do that we fail to give equal opportunities to every student to express their voice for the clarification but with this Google classroom it create a space where all students with different learning styles to voice it out in the forum created and at the same time the curiosity of the student is fulfilled.

While creating a Google Classroom, I have learned that we should organize our thoughts; should give the code to students if we want our students to join the classroom and the most of all is we teacher should post the materials that is very academic and should take extra effort to give time for the student and help all the students without hurting their sentiments.

After joining this college the concept of VLE appeared to me. The starting day in my first year first semester I was informed about the importance of using VLE in the college and various universities. Since then I was using the Virtual Learning Environment in various purposes like downloading the notes and uploading the assignments, discussing in the discussion forum which is created by the module tutors, and reading the announcements given. Now with four years stay in the college i realized that VLE is the indispensable online forum for the universities to share the information so that all inquisitive learners can catch the knowledge shared. 

 VLE also gives opportunities for every individual to interact with  many friends to clarify doubt and also to help others by answering the questions posted. I feel that it is one of the most important online forum where we can use technology in the learning environment to facilitate group interactions.
Furthermore it really help us to get information faster about the module that is going to be learned in the class. With using VLE we can also download the resources which is requires for teaching and learning.

From anywhere I can log in to my VLE account for the information at any time without wasting time. And when we logged in VLE, we see many facilities like

We can also do many things in the VLE like chatting with friends, I can also post questions and ask clarifications if I didn’t understand the content. Most common is using VLE I can submit my assignments to the particular module tutor. I also get know what is happening in an around the college in through the announcement made.

Important of using ICT in the classroom.

The use of ICT in the classroom teaching-learning is very important as it provides opportunities for teachers and students to operate, store, manipulate, and retrieve information, encourage independent and active learning and self-responsibility for learning such as distance learning, motivate teachers and students. The use of ICTs promotes the manipulation of existing information and the creation of real-world products rather than the regulation of received information, which is different from reproductive learning used in traditional way of teaching.

There are many benefits when using ICT in the classrooms such as improvement of class participation. When technology is integrated into lessons, students are expected to be more interested in the subjects they are studying. ICT provides different opportunities to make learning more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching the same things in new ways. Where ICT can encourage more participation in the learning process, which is very difficult to achieve through a traditional lecture method.

Moreover, ICT improves knowledge retention in both students and teachers during the teaching-learning process. Students who are engaged and interested in things they are studying are expected to have better knowledge retention. As mentioned before, technology can help to encourage active participation in the classroom, which also is a very important factor for increased knowledge retention. With countless online resources, technology helps improving teaching. Teachers can use different trusted online resources to enhance the traditional ways of teaching and to keep students more engaged. A teacher can give more attention to their students in the process of teaching and this valuable time can be used for working with students who are interested to learn through online blogs like virtual learning environments in schools. This enhances collaboration and knowledge sharing between teachers.

Students also can learn useful life skills through technology. By using technology in the classroom, both teachers and students can develop skills essential for the 21st century. Students can gain the skills they will need to be successful in the future. Technology can help develop many practical skills, including creating presentations, learning to differentiate reliably from unreliable sources on the Internet etc…

Reflection on Microsoft

Microsoft is the graphical word processing programme that user can type with it. The purpose of the MS word is to allow the user to type and save documents. Similar to other words processor, it is helpful tools to make documents, often we called as words.

Microsoft word processor has been widely used across the world by all the educators and professionals. Not only we can types texts but it can also add the graphics from outside sources or even we can draw graphics using the various features in the MS word.

An extremely important feature of Microsoft Word which is very useful for various purpose is that it has navigation pane at the top. It is the visual representation of various functions. It is also where we can select different functions depending on our need and make use of it conveniently.

Another important benefit that I gained from using Microsoft Word is it allows us to make use of different formats in accordance with the needs and importance. It also helps us to highlight the important points and it allows us to change the font styles, colors, etc. In addition, it also allows us to create simple documents for assignment.

Moreover, it helps us in correcting the grammatical errors and checking the spellings in our documents. more so we can even add the hyperlinks on the images and text to make our documents more interactive. of an all, it is helpful especially when we do assignment and if we need to give the links to the source, it very helpful where we can just give hyperlinks to the particular sources.

Learning Experiences on ICT in college. 

The world today is far more technologically and scientifically advanced.we have mobile phones, television, internet, and all kinds of electronic gadgets we never dreamed of. With the advancement in the technology and shift of paradigm in education system,we are able to integrate the ICT in our teaching and learning process and that really help in changing the role of teacher as a facilitator and the students as the discoverer.


After joining Paro college of education in 2015 and in the first semester of first year only studying a module FIT was the eye opener for me. From this module I experiences many new knowledge. Among many, the most useful one that I learned is designing power point.  Power Point is used for both educational and business purposes because it allows for easy and creative presentations. So I had an opportunity to use whenever we make presentation.

In PPT I didn’t just learned about making presentations but also learned about making animations which will be very useful for us in future to teach. PowerPoint animation is a form of animation which uses Microsoft PowerPoint and similar programs to create a game or movie. The artwork is generally created using PowerPoint's Auto Shape features, and then animated slide-by-slide or by using Custom Animation. All animation in PowerPoint can be divided into four types:  Entrance, Emphasis, Motion and Path.This ideas i learned after learning the module FIT and it really help me in doing assignments in college, teaching during teaching practice and YES it will definitely help in my future teaching that is going to happen soon. 

Further more slide transitions are the animation effects that are applied to whole slide whereas animation effects are applied to objects (text, shape, picture etc.) on a slide. As a teacher power point animation is useful to use as it makes learning meaningful and interactive. Power point components and design principles  have developed me with good planning lesson where that makes my lesson interactive by making quiz in power point and giving short notes.

This year the last semester of 4^th year we are learning the module ICT in teaching and learning. Although we are just started but I came to know about the digital natives and digital immigrant, information gatherer VS information consumer, ICT and teacher Education, ICT and learning styles, level of ICT integration and finally how to create block and started blogging.
